The Learning Journey Berlin - concept and results of a journey in the field of social business
The Change Journey - a concept to facilitate complex change processes
"Crises: passageway to transformation": In this talk the presenter will explore crises on different levels (personal crises, team crises, organizational crises, systemic crises). The questions will be raised why crises are important for actual change and how to work with crises to bring real transformation. Crises are a great chance and opportunity. But to use the leverage of crises we will have to boldly face it, take on its challenges and work ourselves and our organizations through the eye of the cyclon.
"FSL: your flatrate connection to the field" As change
facilitators or design thinkers it is crucial that we understand
the multiplicity and interactions of non-linear forces in complex
settings and processes. In the Institute for Participatory Design
we call a given setting a field (after Kurt Lewin, Bourdieu et
all). In order to enable positive change we have to connect on
different levels with these fields: with our senses,
intellectually, emotionally, technically, artistically. This can be
trained in a way that you stay connected rather than having to
connect again and again. So similar to a DSL connection to the
internet we train to aquire a FSL connection to the field of our
work. (2-days workshop)

An overview of the three models used - how they are used and
experiential exercises for the audience to allow for full
understanding. The concept of change is sometimes seen as a long
process but the presenter adheres to the belief that "action is
all". In keeping what John Ruskin tells us: "What you think or what
you believe or what you know, is of little consequence - the only
consequence is in what you do".

Hundreds of millions of conversations, recommendations, and
critiques take place online. They are continually evolving
conversations about your industry, your company and your brand.
Implementing the right social media measurement strategy and tools
can give your brand the ability to monitor web traffic and brand
reputation, locate ideal consumers, dissect the competition's share
of social media voice, and grow a loyal community of brand
enthusiasts while tangibly demonstrating ROI. Attend this workshop
and learn from an experienced brand monitoring and analytics
consultant the who, what, when, where, and why of social media
measurement and online marketing. The curtain will be pulled back
as vendors, capabilities, and even prices are discussed. You'll
walk away with strategies and systems to turn data into actionable
information that drives the success of your business objectives.
Lots of material will be covered, including how to determine: * Who
is your brand's greatest online enthusiast and greatest online
threat * What tools are used to monitor and quantify social media
activity and their prices * What people are saying about your brand
and where * When your online campaign has become viral and produced
ROI * Where your campaign will have the most impact * Why you need
a separate budget plan dedicated to social media

I would like to conduct a session on "supervision" – in English
it would be translated as coaching. The background of the
methodology though is different. "Supervision" was "developed for
people who work with people,=> people workers. Supervision - for
groups or individuals - intends to provide the possibility to
perceive through different perspectives and/or from the meta level.
Besides sessions guided by the supervisor methodologies have been
developed for intravision. Empowering groups to run their own
sessions.

Horse assisted leadership development is a powerful experiential
approach for developing aligned personal skills in action by
working in partnership with horses. Why horses? Because horses are
extremely canny herd animals that only respond well to good
congruent leadership and instinctively challenge weak leaders. They
don't have a personal agenda. They just respond to who and how you
are at any moment. Believe it or not, human-to-human communication
is 93% non-verbal yet most education and training concentrates on
the remaining 7%,words. The remaining 93% is largely neglected.
This means there is enormous scope to achieve a lot even with just
a little work on that 93%. This is what makes horses so useful -
100% of a horse’s communication is non-verbal. During the programme
the horse's behaviour gives you constant feedback on your own
skills. You immediately get to find out what in your style doesn't
work and get every encouragement to stop doing it. Even better, you
get to find out and practice what does work, you get the huge buzz
of seeing it work there and then. It's an experience that's
guaranteed at the very least to make you more effective. And in our
experience, most people get much more out of it than they
imagined.

The Learning Journey Berlin is a unique programme, based
on field trips and group learning activities, that is to discover
the field of social business in Berlin, and see they can contribute
to the reduction of urban poverty. The Journey itself is happening
in the summer of 2010, and during this session at the Berlin Change
Days we would like to present how our concept evolved, and what the
results and outcome of the programme are.

"Learning Journey Berlin", around the topic of how social
businesses can contribute to the reduction of poverty.
The Change
Journey is a radical approach to change. It is based on the
paradigm that change in organizations is not a linear path from A
to B. As many of us experience, what happens in a change process is
largely unpredictable. Our Change Journey Map then helps you to
navigate through uncertainty. This Map is inclusive - which means
whatever tools and models you are used to can be incorporated. For
all of you who are involved in a change process - we invite you to
become a fellow traveller!
This is a journey - not a blueprint. Organizations and individuals can only master change processes when they are ready to find their own path. The journey then is constructed from something we already know as well as from that which is unknown. The journey teaches us. Many organizations and legions of management consultants fail to implement sustainable change: they design the process around the tool or model they want to apply. We turn that principle around and encourage leaders to design their specific change model according to the needs that emerge in the change process. With the Change Journey Map, we offer a meta model which can accommodate your own methodologies, tools and models. It is a catalyst for dialogue and exploration of different perspectives. Through common thinking, teams are enabled to co-create sustainable actions. Read more about the background of the Change Journey.
