The Art of the Arts: Communication & Dialogue. Summing Up Magic Round Tables and Dialogue and Decision Cultures.

We plan to introduce and use the Magic RoundTable Method and learn to know about the session organisers work and intention and how to involve participants in a short period of time into and intensive deep dialog.

We will provide overview of methods, discuss work experiences and pro’s and con’s AND can include participants contributions or serve expectations.

Introduce methods of Deliberation and Voting where issues are structured, linked and related to the context, negotiated in the framework of scales, proportions and possible consequences.

Heiner Benking and Farah Lenser: We work on dialog and participation methods for 15+ years. This includes the work on Social Systems Design, Self-Organization, Participation, Dialog and Decision Cultures, Moderation, Mediation, Deliberation Methods. Some focus is on tradition and methods of Consensus Building.

One special application is the use of the Magic RoundTable time-credit method where the contributors and participants form a whole and focus attention, we call it an attention ecology, on what it “on the table” in that space, at that time and by the group assembled.
